Technology doesn’t have to be complicated.

We’ve come a long way from the days of cell phones that filled our entire purse and computers that filled entire rooms.  Just a few short years ago you had to be a computer programmer, website designer, and practically a mathematician to sell on the internet.  Not anymore my friend! Not anymore!

1 – Use the right tool.

You are a course creator.  Your knowledge and expertise are needed in the world.  Stop wracking your brain trying to figure out cumbersome technology just to get your brilliance out there into the world.  Trust me, I’ve been building websites a long time (practically since the dawn of time – kidding!) And things have gotten DRAMATICALLY easier in the last few years.  In Episode 13 I talk about my transition to Kajabi and why I think it’s a great tool for course creators.  With Kajabi you have access to pre-made templates for sales pages, landing pages, and even email automation. 2 – Help, somebody help!

Small business owners are an independent lot, and so asking for help DOES NOT come easy.  But, when you try to do everything yourself it will cost you more time and more money.  Tip #2 is to get help when you need it.  In the episode I give you some specifics on adding the right person to your team, how to determine what tasks you MUST devote your time and attention to and how to decide what to spend on your outsourcing.  Get all the details in Episode 13 here.

3 – Map out your plan on paper.

I know you may be thinking paper is old school Alisa, why the heck do I want to get out paper and draw? Well, there have been numerous scientific studies that show that handwriting benefits the brain.  This is one of my favorites.  Personally, I retain things longer and more accurately, I am more creative and I find that using a pen and paper helps me visualize and plan better.  Mapping your plan out on paper helps you get an accurate picture of your customer’s journey, ensure you aren’t missing a gap where they could fall through the cracks, and empowers you to add to or deduct from your plan as you move forward. I recommend sharing your map with a friend or family member so they can tell you their experience.  You will learn a TON!
