#1 Figure Out What Your Customers Need Now.
You may be used to doing business a certain way. Having customers book a hair or nail treatment. Or preparing their homes for the holidays with house or carpet cleaning. People are distracted. They are overwhelmed and zoned out and just want the craziness of 2020 to end.
So maybe they don’t want to do the “normal” things right now. Maybe the holidays are a painful reminder that they can’t be close to family. How can you tune into what your clients and customers need today (not what they need last year at this time) and how can you be the shining star at the end of that tunnel?
The best way to answer this question is to ask. In this week’s episode, I lay out several ways for you to do this so that you can get a solution in front of your customers that they want, need, and will pay for so that you can keep generating revenue.
#2 Repackage your current service offerings to increase sales
You may have to look at creatively repackaging your offering. Perhaps creating a carpet cleaning club or membership to be used for the next year. They get a discount, but they also get to enjoy regular maintenance of their home without worrying about it next year. You also get immediate cash flow and the ability to keep people working.
In the beauty industry – if you aren’t able to provide services right now because of being shut down, what can you offer instead? A post covid makeover package. There are only so many days in a row you can have bed head and wear your pajamas. Those mammas are going to need some serious pampering with all this homeschooling and holidays gone wild. How can you partner with other providers or package your services to make it easy for husbands, boyfriends, or even fathers to shop for the special lady in their lives?
#3 Stay Top Of Mind With Creative Content
The one place people are is on the internet. When you can be the go-to solution for “how to handle roots for your holiday photos when you can’t get to the salon” guess who they are calling first when you are open again? The time to boost your organic (read free) search rankings is now. It’s COVID, you just dropped an entire turkey on your brand new wool carpet – OH CR*P! Now what? Creating an answer that your customers can easily find and read during this kind of emergency will burn you into their memory. Regularly providing useful information to your audience in their time of need is how you become irreplaceable. How creative can you be?
